Delta Lea Goodrem (born in Sydney on November 9, 1984) is an Australian musician, singer and actress, who started her career as Nina Tucker on the television soap opera Neighbours. She has released two number one albums, "Innocent Eyes" and "Mistaken Identity," and had 7 number one singles in Australia.
Early Life
Born in Sydney on November 9th, 1984, premature, Goodrem had an interest in music from a very young age, despite coming from a sports-based family. She attended Hills Grammar in Sydney's Suburb of Glenhaven, where she took up piano as a hobby and focused on her music. She strived to be a performer, delivering mini-concerts in her street, charging neighbours to watch her sing and dance.
Goodrem appeared in numerous television commercials and television shows in Australia. At the age of seven, Goodrem appeared in an American commercial for Galoob Toys with her friend Rebecca Cartwight. She also was signed up to be the Nesquik girl. Goodrem has also made cameos in Australian television episodes of Hey Dad...!, A Country Practice and Police Rescue.
At the age of 12, Delta recorded a demo CD, with five songs she'd written. She included her version of the Australian national anthem. Delta sent the CD off and it landed in the hands of the legendary Australian manager, Glenn Wheatley, the man who guided the Little River Band and John Farnham to mega success. In 2001, when Goodrem was 17, she signed to Sony Records Australia, and recorded an album of tracks, some self-penned, and some bought in by the label. Sony launched her career with an unsuccessful bubblegum pop single in November 2001, called "I Don't Care", which reached number 64 on the ARIA Music Charts [1]. The track was a cover originally by Angela Via but Goodrem brought it to greater fame. The music video for "I Don't Care" can be found on one of Delta's DVDs
Innocent Eyes
In 2002, after a role in Neighbours, Goodrem released her first single, but second single, entitled "Born To Try". A drastic change from her debut single, the adult contemporary pop track debuted at number 3, and climbed to the number one spot, fuelled by the song's prominence in Neighbours.
Goodrem soon became a household name, and Australia's newest sweetheart, with a girl-next-door image that rivalled that of Britney Spears in her early career.
After winning a 'Silver' Logie for "Most Popular With TV Week New Female Talent" for her role of Nina Tucker in Neighbours, Goodrem released her second single, "Lost Without You". It debuted at number 1, staying there for two weeks.
Her debut album Innocent Eyes was released on March 3, 2003, producing a record five number 1 singles in Australia. She has writing credits on nearly every song on the album, including tracks written solely by her, making her the only international act or Australian female performer in history to be credited as performer and writer on four ARIA number 1 hits.
The third single from the album was the title track; "Innocent Eyes". It debuted at number 2, and peaked at number 1 after two weeks at number 2.
In the June of 2003, Goodrem appeared on Channel V, an Australian lifestyle/music cable TV channel, performing a mini-concert of 7 songs from her album (which had already been certified 6x Platinum at the time). The concert was well received, and has been released on her DVD, "Delta" (renamed "Innocent Eyes" in the UK).
Cancer
On July 8th, 2003, Delta announced that she had Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of cancer. Goodrem's management team have been criticised for using her illness to attract favourable media coverage.
Early on in her treatment, Goodrem recorded a few new songs, and a video clip for her fourth single, "Not Me, Not I", though it was apparent that the treatment was taking its toll on her. When asked why Goodrem worked so hard to promote the album in spite of her illness, she said, '"Not Me, Not I" is so special to me that I had to film a clip for it, just as I did with every other song I did for the album.'
When "Not Me, Not I" reached number 1 on the Australian charts, Delta became the only female artist to have four number 1 singles from her debut album, besting the previous effort of three number 1s from Kylie Minogue's Kylie album.
On October 4 of that year, while Goodrem was still undergoing treatment, it was announced that she would not renew her contract with manager Glenn Wheatley. Goodrem's mother, Lea Goodrem, subsequently replaced Wheatley.
Goodrem capped off a professionally successful, though personally traumatic, year by winning a seven ARIA Music Awards on October 21, 2003, which nearly broke the previous record of nine, held by Natalie Imbruglia. Delta didn't perform personally at the ARIAs. Darren Hayes, formerly of Savage Garden, performed her second number one hit, "Lost Without You," in tribute to her.
In the first week of December 2003 Innocent Eyes broke John Farnham's Australian record of 25 consecutive weeks at No. 1 (Whispering Jack (1986)). In total, Innocent Eyes spent 29 weeks at #1, tied with Neil Diamond's Hot August Night (1972), as the second longest charting number-one album in Australian history. Innocent Eyes has been certified over 14x platinum in Australia alone, with sales in the United Kingdom reaching nearly 1 million, having debuted at #2 in the album chart.
Goodrem released her debut DVD entitled Delta (Innocent Eyes in the UK and Europe) which was a success in music DVD charts in Australia and the UK, featuring music videos, her Channel V mini-concert, behind the scenes footage and more. The DVD broke Australian records, selling in excess of half a million copies.
After cancer
After announcing in late December/early January that she was in remission, Goodrem began to go back into the studio and write and record new songs, for a then-untitled album. There were rumours at the time that she was dating tennis player, Mark Philippoussis. The rumours proved to be true, and the couple seemed to be smitten with each other. Philippoussis was Goodrem's second boyfriend, with Blair McDonough, from Neighbours, being the first.
In January 2004, Goodrem attended the 2004 Australian Open at length, where she prominently supported her boyfriend, Australian player, Mark Philippoussis. She continued her support during the Wimbledon tournament.
Hating Alison Ashley
In February 2004 it was announced Goodrem had won the title role in the Australian comedy film Hating Alison Ashley, the movie based on the novel by Robin Klein, a prominent Australian author. The film subsequently performed poorly at the box office in comparison to movies that were screening at the time.
It earned less than $2 million despite being based on a successful book and screening in 180 Australian cinemas during the Easter holidays. This, however, was still good enough for it to be labelled a high-grossing Australian movie.
While Hating Alison Ashley was seen by 60,000 people in its first weekend, takings dropped 28 per cent the following week, suggesting that word of mouth was overwhelmingly negative.[2]
Critics also slaughtered the movie in reviews; claiming that Goodrem's acting was too robotic and detached; however they did highly credit actress Saskia Burmeister, who played Erica Yurken, for her role in the movie. Despite calling Goodrem's acting bad, many critics attributed this to Goodrem's recent battle with cancer, and subsequently stated that the bad acting was due to her being in remission.
The film has now been released on DVD, and has been well received by fans of Goodrem, and moreover, fans of the movie.
"Out Of The Blue"
In October, Goodrem released the debut single from her forthcoming album, whose working title was Mistaken Identity. The song, written with UK producer Guy Chambers (former cohort of Robbie Williams) was called "Out Of The Blue", and was about Goodrem's new relationship. The single was well received by the public, and shot to number 1, and subsequently went platinum. In the UK, "Out Of The Blue" debuted at number 9, also charting in Germany and other European countries. In October 2004, shortly after the single's release, Goodrem's relationship with Philippoussis was over after Paris Hilton allegedly announced to the media that she was Philippoussis' new love interest, much to the surprise of Goodrem and her fans. This was later confirmed by Philippoussis, though he stated that Hilton was not the cause of the break-up. This was suspected, as he didn't attend the 2004 ARIA Awards, at which Goodrem was performing for the first time.
Mistaken Identity
Goodrem's second album Mistaken Identity was released on November 7, 2004 and debuted at number 1 in Australia, also charting in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. The album saw Delta collaborating with songwriters such as Cathy Dennis (who had written "Toxic" for Britney Spears and "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" for fellow Australian soap star-turned singer Kylie Minogue), among others including Billy Mann (who worked on Jessica Simpson's third album).
Goodrem also collaborated with Irish singer Brian McFadden, formerly of boyband Westlife on a duet entitled "Almost Here." According to reports, the married McFadden and Goodrem had embarked on an affair, reports of which were denied by both camps. In January 2005, The Sunday Mirror explosively "exposed" their fledgling relationship in a front page scoop. Both Goodrem and McFadden maintain that they had not embarked on a relationship until mid-December, by which time Goodrem and McFadden were both single, the latter having separated from Kerry Katona, formerly of Atomic Kitten, in September 2004. Some negative reports speculated that the couple's relationship was a publicity stunt to promote their duet, which was the third single from Delta's second album, and the third single from McFadden's debut album. The couple are still very much a couple 8 months on, regardless of the negative press reports.
In Australia, "Mistaken Identity" the album's title track, debuted and peaked at number 7 in January 2005. The track was not promoted with Delta being in the UK at the time, promoting "Almost Here" with Brian McFadden. "Mistaken Identity" went Gold, but did not stay in the chart for as long as her previous singles. In the UK, "Almost Here" debuted at number 3, her chart best equal with her debut, "Born to Try". The song debuted at number 1 in Australia, going Platinum, where it was released as the third single from the album. On her chart positions, Delta responded to criticisms that her career was slowing down by saying, "My last single peaked at number seven, and this is number one. It is up and down." On May 29th, she released her 4th official single from "Mistaken Identity" - "A Little Too Late" It debuted and peaked at #13, a disappointment, but despite this Delta was not worried, focusing on tour rehearsals at that time. Even though her last single was a flop, "Be Strong" is slated for single release in September 26th. It is officially confirmed that "The Analyst" will not be her 10th single, after heavily rumours that it will be because a clip was played at her concert while "The Analyst" was playing. There have been high expectations from this single. A rumoured B-Side to be on that single is "Possesionless".
Further Controversy
In late February, a charity concert for Childline was held in Dublin, Ireland with Goodrem and McFadden both performing at the concert. When the couple finished singing their single "Almost Here", the crowd reportedly booed the couple. Many fans at the event say the reports are unfounded, with Brian McFadden stating, "The Irish people love Delta. We have heard that there was a couple of people planted in the front row who may have booed, but we certainly weren't booed off stage."
At one point, Goodrem was reported as saying that she was becoming deeply depressed, and isolated with the media intrusion on her private life, and relationship with McFadden. Also in February, Paris Hilton accused Delta of using her split from Mark Philippoussis to find fame in the US, according to tabloid reports. Hilton also denied previous claims that she had ever been romantically involved with Philippoussis. She also said in a press junket to promote her guest appearance in the movie "House Of Wax" that she "loved Goodrem's music and wants to release similar-sounding tracks herself."
In April 2005, Goodrem's international record contract was extended to the USA, with Columbia Records, an imprint of Sony Music, buying the USA rights to her music.
Reports circulated that Columbia would 'drop their deal with Goodrem unless she dropped her mother as manager'. Further reports said that, since her mother took over as manager, Goodrem's career was spiralling into controversy and disrepair. Goodrem and her mother both responded angrily, and both quoted that they would 'always work with each other', although Delta amended the statement with "only in dreams."
Tabloid reports in the UK also claimed that Brian McFadden had proposed to Delta in April. He later released a statement claiming that this was untrue. There was further speculation in July, after Goodrem was spotted sporting a diamond ring on her ring finger while walking through Brisbane airport. However, a spokesperson insisted, "There's nothing to tell." Delta is well known for wearing rings on any finger; incidentally, publicity shots from early 2003 feature her wearing a ring on her engagement finger.
The Visualise Tour
In July 2005, Delta Goodrem took part in her first headline tour, the Visualise tour, first performed in Perth, and subsequently in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra and other major Australian cities. Named after a B-side, entitled "Visualise," the tour features a mixed set of tracks from both her #1 albums and more. The tour's opening act was a up-and-coming Canadian artist, seventeen-year-old Kyle Riabko. Brian Mcfadden, also performed with her in "Almost Here" and "Flying without wings"
The tour came under criticism when tickets were put on sale for $100 Australian dollars; higher than most international acts touring in Australia at around the same time. It was thought that the price contributed to the slow sales at first, alongside the fact that people did not know what to expect from her show. By the time the concerts were due to take place, many venues were sold out, after tickets were reduced to $60, with the Adelaide show attracting almost 10,000 fans. After the tour concluded over 80,000 tickets had been bought in total, making the Visualise tour being one of Australia's highest selling local tours.
Charity Work
Delta Goodrem is a member of RADD (Recording Artists, Actors And Athletes Against Drunk Driving, a group of celebrities using their position to rally, and raise awareness of the risks of drink driving. She has recorded a message, which has aired on Australian radio, about the risks of drink driving. Goodrem also uses her experience with cancer to raise awareness for other young people affected by the disease, helping to launch a UK web site specifically aimed at young teenagers affected, in mid 2005.
In July 2005, Goodrem released a fourth single from the Mistaken Identity album in Australia, the up-tempo track "A Little Too Late". It peaked at #13, whilst Goodrem was touring the country. Goodrem's European labels decided it would be best for her to take a break from being exposed in the media, following the backlash of her dating Brian McFadden, deciding not to release further singles from "Mistaken Identity," despite Goodrem herself, and fans, wanting a release of "A Little Too Late."
In late 2005, Goodrem will release her second DVD, featuring a full live concert filmed during her Visualise tour in Sydney. She will also release a fifth and final single from her "Mistaken Identity" album, the inspirational ballad, "Be Strong."
Born To Try
In December 2004, Goodrem announced she was planning to relocate to the United States in an attempt to break into the US market. In early 2005, Goodrem appeared on the North American soap opera North Shore.
On June 28, 2005 a new USA mix of Delta's hit "Lost Without You" was released to digital download stores, such as iTunes, receiving early spins on Adult Contemporary radio stations across the United States. It will be officially released to CHR/Pop stations on August 30.
Her USA album, which will be released on January 10, 2006, will be a hybrid of her first two albums, entitled Born To Try, after her first UK single. The album will feature several tracks from each of her albums, including "Almost Here," "Mistaken Identity," "Not Me, Not I" and "Out Of The Blue," many being remixed and changed for the US audience. In addition, she has filmed new videos for both "Lost Without You" and "Born To Try", which will be the second USA single. The album will be available on both standard CD and also on DualDisc format, which will feature video footage, such as a specially recorded live acoustic set, featuring "Last Night On Earth" (a track written with Billy Mann), which does not otherwise appear on the album tracklist.
She has also written an exclusive track for America - entitled "Never Fades Away" She has been named "The Artist to Look Out For" In the US.
The O.C. and Beyond
In a bid to get (as Goodrem calls it) "world domination", Columbia lined up an impressive trail of promotion, all coinciding with Goodrem's release of Born To Try.
Performances given at the Today Show, the World Music Awards, and Bloomingdale Dinner for Colonic Cancer Treatment (to predominately American audiences) have been very well received. Goodrem even rated a special mentioned from Billboard magazine, with the writer calling her a "tigress of talent".
However, it is not to say that Columbia have been acting alone. Many of Goodrem's "supportive" fans have attempted aid Goodrem's attempt to 'break into the US market'. Petitions have appeared on fan sites requesting popular talk shows (i.e. The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Letterman Show and Jay Leno) to host Goodrem for performances and featurettes.
Goodrem was also approached by producers from the telvision show The O.C. to appear as a guest star. According to The O.C. camp, Goodrem willingly agreed to appear on the show, and writers have come up with a character for her. It is said that Goodrem will appear on the show as Marissa's estranged Australian cousin.
Early on in Goodrem's American promotions, she appeared on the show, North Shore, as a famous celebrity. Using that opportunity, Goodrem performed several musical items; which consequently sparked American interest in the singer-songwriter.
Trivia
- When asked what position her failed single, I Don't Care, reached, Goodrem was unsure, up-playing herself by giving her a higher chart position. From what was #64, Goodrem (accidentally) stated was a #62 peak.
- Has been said to have an English accent, but linguistics experts state it as a "Refined Australian" accent.
- Genuine "Delta" American dollars were once in circulation. They featured the average American dollar with a picture of Goodrem's head on it. (disputed — see talk page)
- Has been known to like chocolate; especially Cabury's Top Deck.
- Delta will be on the TV show Lost as one of the survivors on the Island.

Delta Goodrem - Born To Try
Lyrics :
"Born To Try"
Doing everything that I believe in
Going by the rules that I've been taught
More understanding of what's around me
And protected from the walls of love
All that you see is me
And all I truly believe
That I was born to try
I've learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life
But you've got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like
But I was born to try
No point in talking what you should have been
And regretting the things that went on
Life's full of mistakes, destinies and fate
Remove the clouds look at the bigger picture
And all that you see is me
And all I truly believe
That I was born to try
I've learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life
But you've got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like
But I was born to try
All that you see is me
All I truly believe
All that you see is me
And all I truly believe
That I was born to try
I've learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life
But you've got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like
But I was born to try
But you've got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like
But I was born to try

Delta Goodrem - Innocent Eyes
Lyrics :
"Innocent Eyes"
Do you remember when you were 7?
And the only thing that you wanted to do
Was show your mum that you could play the piano
Ten years have passed
And the one thing that lasts
Is that same old song that we played along and made my mumma cry
I miss those days and I miss those ways
When I got lost in fantasies
In a cartoon land of mysteries
In a place you won't grow old in a place you won't feel cold and I'll sing
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Seems I'm lost in my reflection
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Find a star for my direction
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
For the little girl inside who won't just hide
Don't let me see mistakes and lies
Let me keep my faith and innocent eyes
My innocent eyes
Do you remember when you were 15?
And the kids at school called you a fool cos you took the chance to dream
In the time that's past and the one thing that lasts
Is that same old song that we played along and made my daddy cry
I miss those days and I miss those ways
When I got lost in fantasies
In a cartoon land of mysteries
In a place you won't grow old in a place you wont feel cold and I'll sing
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Seems I'm lost in my reflection
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Find a star for my direction
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
For the little girl inside who wont just hide
Don't let me see mistakes and lies
Let me keep my faith and innocent eyes
My innocent eyes
Under my feeling under my skin
Under the thoughts from within
Learning the subtext
Of the mind
See creation how where defined
My innocent eyes
I miss those days and I miss those ways
When I got lost in fantasies
In a cartoon land of mysteries
In a place you won't grow old in a place you won't feel cold and I'll sing
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Seems I'm lost in my reflection
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Find a star for my direction
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
For the little girl inside who wont just hide
Don't let me see mistakes and lies
Let me keep my faith and innocent eyes
My innocent eyes
Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - Not Me, Not I
Lyrics :
"Not Me, Not I"
You mixed me up for someone
Who'd fall apart without you
Yeah you broke my heart for the first time
But I'll get over that too
It's hard to find the reasons
Who can see the rhyme?
I guess that we where seasons out of time
I guess you didn't know me
If you think love is blind
That I wouldn't see the flaws between the lines
Surprised that I caught you out
On every single time that you lied
Did you think that every time I see you I would cry
No not me, not I, not I, no not me, not I
The story goes on without you
And there's got to be another ending
But yeah you broke my heart it won't be the last time
But I'll get over them too
As a new door opens we close the ones behind
And if you search your soul I know you'll find
You never really knew me
If you think love is blind
That I wouldn't see the flaws between the lines
Surprised that I caught you out
On every single time that you lied
Did you think that every time I see you I would cry
No not me, not I, not I, not I, not I
All you said to me
All you promised me
All the mystery never did believe
No I never cry no I never not me not I
If you think love is blind
That I wouldn't see the flaws between the lines
Surprised that I caught you out
On every single time that you lied
Did you think that every time I see you I would cry No not I, I won't cry
No not me, not I, not I, Not I
No not me, not I

Delta Goodrem - Throw It Away
Lyrics :
"Throw It Away"
fly by frankie thinks he's superman
like a child at the wheel of a rocket
he comes round here with a license to love
but i don't know where he got it
i trusted you offered everything
but i'm not sure you deserve it
you tell me that i'm lucky
but i feel like giving up
'cause a heart like mine's wasted on you
if you don't know what you've got
you throw it away
throw it away
all the heart and the soul i've been giving
you throw it away
throw it away
like it's no big deal you'll be missin'
you throw it away
throw it away
run it underground
fly by frankie's got it in his head
that he's something i know that he's not
he's like a blind bull in a china shop
when it comes to affairs of the heart
you wouldn't know what love is
if it hit you like a rock
and a girl like me is lost on you
if you don't see what you've got
[chorus]
every breath in the park
every dance in the dark
every promise you make
you go and throw it away
every smile in the rain
you know it's always the same
you go and do it again
you go and throw it away
you wouldn't know what love is
if it hit you like a rock
and a girl like me is lost on you
if you don't see what you've got
[chorus]

Delta Goodrem - Lost Without You
Lyrics :
"Lost Without You"
I know I can be a little stubborn sometimes
A little righteous and too proud
I just want to find a way to compromise
Cos I believe that we can work things out
I thought I had all the answers never giving in
But baby since you've gone I admit that I was wrong
All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How am I going to be strong without you I need you by my side
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what I'd do ...I'm
lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you
How am I ever gonna get rid of these blues
Baby I'm so lonely all the time
Everywhere I go I get so confused
You're the only thing that's on my mind
Oh my beds so cold at night and I miss you more each day
Only you can make it right no I'm not too proud to say
All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How am I going to be strong without you I need you by my side
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what I'd do ...I'm
lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you
If I could only hold you now and make the pain just go away
Can't stop the tears from running down my face
Oh
All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How am I going to be strong without you I need you by my side
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what I'd do ...I'm
lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you

Delta Goodrem - Predictable
Lyrics :
"Predictable"
I smile
You say I take your breathe away
You say you love me and you make
All the right promises to break
And when I turn around you're always there
Like that's the proof you really care
But I see right through you and I think
To myself
You're just so predictable
In every way
I want you to know I know your game
It's so unbelievable
how you never change
you won't get away
with loving me
you're just so predictable
I run
You say you won't give up the chase
You say you'll follow me anyplace
So you can make the same mistakes
You know just what to do
And How to use the best of you
To try and change my mind
But my eyes are opening this time
And I read you
You're just so predictable
In every way
I want you to know I know your game
It's so unbelievable
how you never change
you won't get away
with loving me
you're just so predictable
Now that I know your every move
How you gonna hide baby what you gonna do
Now that somebody knows the truth
About you and how you're just so
You're just so predictable
In every way
I want you to know I know your game
It's so unbelievable
how you never change
you won't get away
with loving me
you're just so predictable

Delta Goodrem - Butterfly
Lyrics :
"Butterfly"
i won't hurt you
i'll protect you
i won't let the rain fall down
i'll always be around
and baby i will understand if sometimes
you just want to spread your wings and fly
and let your colours shine
and everyday i wanna be a risk you take
make a promise that will never break for life
you're my butterfly
don't fly away open my hands your free
praying you'll come back to me
you're my butterfly
don't fly away
you're my reality
always be my gravity
you're my butterfly
come on and touch the sky
you're my butterfly
i won't forget you
or neglect you
won't let no-one take your place
in your eyes i see my face
and baby do you know that everybody watches
every time that you take flight
they're blinded by your light
every day the feeling's gonna be the same
i can promise that will never change for life

Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - In My Own Time
Lyrics :
"In My Own Time"
So much is happening to me.
So much that I can't even see.
So many words of wisdom that I am trying to be.
Catch me if I should fall.
And even more so while I'm standing tall.
My head is spinning around and it's making me dizzy.
I'm spinning around and it's making me ill.
You don't understand what I'm going through just to find a way to climb.
It'll be in my own time.
It'll be in my own time.
Whispering thoughts in all different ways.
That I'm in a daze.
My head is spinning around and it's making me dizzy.
I'm spinning around and it's making me ill.
You don't understand what I'm going through just to find a way to climb.
It'll be in my own time.
'cause it'll be in my own time.
In my own time.
In my own time I'll take a chance.
In my own time I'll find romance. In my own time.
It'll be mine.
After the clouds there'll be the rain.
After the sun there'll be the moon it doesn't matter.
'cause it'll be in my own time

Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - My Big Mistake
Lyrics :
"My Big Mistake"
amazing fairytale that had come true
Mr reliable romantic was you
blinded misguided in the arms of love
just 'cause it suited the both of us
then it all went wrong
i'm the one to blame
taking you for granted
in so many ways
when i look back now
how can i ever forget
you make me so happy
the day we met
how could something so magic (magic)
become something so tragic (tragic)
right before my eyes
two separate lives
every second was a precious moment
now i'm thinking about the path i've chosen
wish i could un-make my big mistake
my big mistake
communication had broken down
this situation was out of our hands
well my hands
you've got to please understand
that i was too young, yes just
too young for that
i guess it all went wrong
and i'm the one to blame
but what i would give to have you back again
the days the weeks the months
the years that we have wasted
i'm sorry
i still love you
i don't expect a call 'cause my apology's belated
i'm sorry
and i miss you all my life
[chorus]
Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - This Is Not Me
Lyrics :
"This Is Not Me"
Oooh
What happened?
Why didn't I listen to myself
I thought I'd know how to handle it
But I didn't
So confused
Where I stand
Do I stand alone
With each individual
This is not me
I used to be strong
Now I feel weak
This is not me
I never said it was
I didn't like it because I lost my way
This is not me
You know that it's true
And I'd be lying to you just to convince myself
This is not me
What happened?
Why didn't I speak up at the time
I thought I'd know what was going on
But I didn't
So confused where I stand
Do I stand alone
With each individual
This is not me
I used to be strong
Now I feel weak
This is not me
I never said that it was
I didn't like it because I had lost my way
This is not me
You know that it's true
And I'd be lying to you just to convince myself
This is not me
Whoo oooh yeah
Hey yeah
So confused where I stand
Do I stand alone
Someone tell me
Cause this is not me
If I said that it was, I didn't like it because I had lost my way
This is not me, you know that it's true
I'd be lying to you just to convince myself
This is not me

Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - Running Away
Lyrics :
"Running Away"
I close my eyes and make a wish for
Inner peace and tranquillity inside
My mind I feel it's changing
Breaking down the defences of my heart
It's like a new adventure
And this is my life
No longer know the girl inside
The stranger in my mind
I'm running away. Running away from you
Though I beg you to stay. I'm running away from you
I'm running away. From predictable
Miss reliable. So methodical
Wanna be individual. And original
So radical. And desirable
Put a message in a bottle
Watch it sail across the ocean blue
So free of limitations
A vision I can only fantasize
I'm floating in a new direction
As this is my life
No longer know the girl inside
The stranger in my mind

Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - A Year Ago Today
Lyrics :
"A Year Ago Today"
Another year older
A little bit stronger
A little bit wiser than? a year ago today
Looking over my shoulder
I was so much younger then
I can't believe what happened
A year ago today
And I just can't forget about it
It wouldn't mean a thing
You went away
A year ago today
Another year gone by
Oh the tears have run dry
Life seemed so unkind
A year ago today
And I just can't understand it
And I don't think I ever will
You went away
A year ago today
And I just can't understand it
And I don't think I ever will
You went away
A year ago today
And how many times have I questioned myself
What more could I do
And how many times did I fool myself
Over you oh? yeah
You've gotta pick yourself up,
Take another look
And dust yourself off cause life's too good,
I'll say it to myself and I'll say it again
Lover will never end
And though we're so far apart
You're forever in my heart
Another year older
A little bit stronger
On this anniversary
You're watching over me
You went away
A year ago today
You ran away
A year ago today
Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - Longer
Lyrics :
"Longer"
I see you everyday
I guess we walk the same way
To wherever we're going
Every morning and every night
Do you smile to be polite
No way of knowing
I can't explain it
But I'm not complaining
If I'm happy or sad
If only we had
Just a minute longer. Than this
Just a little closer. Than this
I would get to know you
A little bit better
I could tell you
If only we had
Just a minute longer
A moment had arrived
It was just the right time
For conversation
And he asked me
What do you do?
What is your name?
Where are you from?
But before long
We're at the station
And I was so frustrated
In fact devastated
I feel happy but sad
If only we had
I wonder
I wonder what you think about
Do you think about me
Maybe I'm a dreamer
But I just believe
And I know what I see
Forever wishing
There would be another day
Oh if only we had
I don't care happy or sad

Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - Will You Fall For Me
Lyrics :
"Will You Fall For Me"
Woo oooh
Yeah ah
My head's full of thought
Thoughts of you
And I'm distracted so easy
Thinking what to do
So unsure, so unfamiliar
Am I wrong to think that something could happen
Will you fall for me
I need to know, the way I'd like you to
Baby, will you fall for me
The way I've fallen for you
I'm not acting like myself
And I'm playing the role of someone else
And my hearts beating so fast
I can't stop it
And Im so unsure
So unfamiliar
Am I wrong to think that something could happen
Will you fall for me
The way I'd like you to
Will you fall for me
The way I've fallen for you
The way I've fallen for you
The way I've fallen for you
Fallen for, fallen for you
For you..
So unsure, so unfamiliar
Am I wrong to think,
That something could happen
Was I wrong to think I
Will you fall for me
The way I'd like you to
Will you fall for me
The way I've fallen for you
The way I've fallen for you
The way I've fallen for you
Delta Goodrem Music Lyrics:
Delta Goodrem - Out Of The Blue
Lyrics :
"Out Of The Blue"
A new beginning
A new chapter of my life
Started the day
When I thought
It could be my last
My eyes were wide shut but I hadn't given up
Just thought I'd be walking the world alone
Out of the blue
There I met you
Showed me a life I can't see without you
And theres just no way
That I can fight these emotions
Your energy running through me
Nobody can renew me like you
Out of the blue
Can this be true?
Family and friends they were my life
I wasn't one for butterflies
But you gave me love that I can't disguise
And there will be times when we're apart
I want you to know you're in my heart
Growing into a beautiful garden
No emotions
My whole body felt like ice
Needed to feel that the sun would shine my way
My world had turned to dust
But I had my faith and trust
Just thought I'd be walking the world alone
Family and friends they were my life
I wasn't one for butterflies
But you gave me love that I can't disguise
And there will be times when we're apart
I want you to know you're in my heart
Growing into a beautiful garden
Out of the blue
There I met you
I can’t believe that this happened so soon
And theres just no way
That I can fight these emotions
Your energy running through me
(Out of the blue)
(There I met you)
(Showed me a life) I can't see without you
(Out of the blue) Without you
There I met you, you
(Showed me a life) I can't see without you
There will be times when we're apart
I want you to know you're in my heart
Growing into a beautiful garden (Finally come true)
(Out of the blue)
(There I met you)
