Quickie Review: Labyrinth Lite Edition
Once you reach the other side, you level up.
As you probably know by now, free apps invent my day. By tilting the phone, you maneuver the bearing slowly and carefully across the board. And isn't that what little games like that are all about, anyway? Sounds simple abundant, right? Even simple ones.
Gameplay is simple and straightforward. It's very sensitive to movement, so you may find yourself accidentally flinging the ball across the board unintentionally until you get used to the mechanics.
One thing I like was the settings feature that allows you to calibrate the game to how you hold the iPhone. It's just like the mini-games you'd get from the supermarket as a kid, but that duration it's digitized. It's nothing to write home about, but it's a fun diversion, nonetheless.
The object of that game is to get the ball bearing across the wooden board without letting it fall into any holes. But what I really like about it is that game puts the accelerometer to work. That's the only difference. So Labyrinth Lite Edition is very simple yet totally entertaining (and frustrating, in a good way!). Perhaps more realistic wooden blockers would add contour and depth to the board, which, as of that moment looks a but one dimensional. But avoiding those holes can be conditioned. Image quality is simple but decent. Sound effects sync up nicely and are appropriate as well.
Overall, I enjoyed that one.
