Sony Ericsson is all set to woo women with its new W660 walkman phone. Girls too love music guys. Most phone makers forget to keep this in mind while making the music phones. But Sony Ericsson is awakened to the fact and has made a walkman phone which has got looks to kill. We say it’s made for girls because it is stylish and good looking apart from being a walkman phone. With the attractive red and gold casing the phone looks stunning and delicate which men can not handle. Half of the plastic rear panel has flower engravings which men will hate. Going to the music side of the Sony Ericsson W660 it is more a MP3 player then a phone. The handset flashes external music control on both the gold colour sides. You may little disappointed with the sound of its external speaker but as it’s is the walkman phone it has the earphones which takes you to the world of music instantly. Sony Ericsson provides one of the best earphones available in the market with the handset. These spectacular earphones come with the all of Sony Ericsson walkman series and said to be the best. The earphones compensate for the low volume of external speaker. The phone is fitted with the integrated walkman 2.0 music player with fantastic equalizer, stereo widening function and different visualization effects. The megabass mode give the phone the effect of a music system. For the people who love to stick to their favourite FM radio station the Sony Ericsson W660 also has stereo RDS radio which can memorize up to 20 stations. The receptions of signal for the FM is superb even better then some of the music players out there. The phone enables the user to run both the radio and the music player in the background. The music player in the Sony Ericsson W660 features MP3, WMA AAC, AAC+ file formats (and many more). The phone is fitted with the 2 megapixel camera which lacks focus, but you would be probably expecting it as it is the walkman phone. The Sony Ericsson W660 features a standard numeric keypad obviously at the bottom side of the front panel. Again made to attract the women the keys are made of little softer plastic material which few may find unstable. But women can handle it perfectly well. In addition to that the keys are big enough to avoid the typing errors. The keypad also has a white backlight but it is little uneven. The navigation and the selection key on the keypad operate a standard menu and as you were expecting there is a shortcut for the walkman player as well. The navigation key is also a shortcut to the walkman player controls. Apart from the keypad the half of the front panel is occupied by an average quality display. The active 262K color TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels offers several colours but disappointing resolution.
The best part of the display is its 100 percent visibility under the sun which is not there in several highly rated phones. Obviously you have to adjust the settings with highly contrast colours when you are out in the sun. Going to the rear panel we have talked about the flower engravings on half of the plastic cover rest half is smooth and shiny plastic. Camera an speaker is right in between the flower engravings. On the left edge of the phone the user will find Memory Stick Micro Card slot which is protected by a plastic cap which is attached to the casing making it impossible to loose. The left edge also has play and stop control button which will be operational only if the keypad is unlocked. The right edge has the camera control for capture function not autofocus sorry. The right edge also has a volume rocker on the top which works even when keypad is locked. The Sony Ericsson W660 has another camera lens on the front, above the display. On the bottom edge of the handset there is a wrist strap eyelet. We know that most of the men will keep themselves away from the Sony Ericsson W660 but we also know that women will not be able to do so.

Samsung E950 is a slim slider with loads of features; it seems to be an improved version of Samsung E900. The Samsung E950 measures 98 x 46 x 15 millimetres and comes in attractive black and metallic finishing. If not us trust us the pictures the phone looks stylish. The best feature that Samsung E590 offers is its touch sensitive navigation through out the phone’s interface, same as its precursor Samsung E900. The user can get touch panel input in the 1.2 inch display in the phone. But the touch screen navigation system can be dodgy at times, but let’s hope Samsung has fixed the problem this time. The phone is fitted with a 3 megapixel camera. But don’t expect much as it lacks auto focus and produces average quality photos which may disappoint some people. It comes with the microSD memory card slot so you don’t have to bother about the space for your songs, images and videos. Its compact size and weight makes it easy to carry in hand, pocket or the handbags. But I am you’re the user will like to carry it his hand because of his seductive looks.
The phone is packed with the 262K colour TFT display with a QVGA (320×240 pixels) resolution and Bluetooth with A2DP. For all the music lovers who must be worried by now, it does have FM radio and TV out facility but that’s it. It is not a music phone, sorry. The Samsung E590 offers MS Office documents viewer but let us warn you it is really slow. Another disadvantage or minus points is that Java applications can only be installed through WAP. The phone has nice web browser which will make many people happy. The Samsung E590 comes with a Data cable and a 512MB card and with a decent battery backup. Now let’s have a close look at the phone. As we have told you the phone is touch sensitive so there are no beautifully or differently designed keys sticking out of the phone which we can analyse. When in active mode the touchpad display red backlighting and white fonts, which look attractive, to some it may not though.
But if you are worried about the size of the keys don’t worry as no compromise has been made with the standard comfortable size of the keys. If you will move to the left side of the phone you will find a volume rocker and a port for plugging the charger, a headset and the data cable. Samsung has really worked on the looks you see no ugly wholes in the phone to spoil the looks. The strangest or the much unexpected thing is that Samsung is not offering charger with the phone. How can they do this, really? May be it’s their way of saying we don’t made the best headset sorry, you deserve better. Whatever? Going to the right side of the phone the user will find an ON and off key which can be used to unlock the handset when the slider is closed or even wake up the touch-sensitive keypad if you let it turn off. You must be guessing where is the Camera release button well obviously if it’s not on the left side it will be on right. And if are talking about the camera release button let us tell you the Camera is in its immoveable position on the back of the phone. It is revealed when the phone is in the open position. A self portrait mirror is also placed next to the camera in case the user wants to take his or her pictures. The handset also features a LED flash for better pictures.
The advantages and disadvantages of the Samsung E590 are as follows:
1. It has unique touch screen navigation solution, which can be little dodgy
2. Its Compact size and weight is definitely a plus point
3. A megapixel camera which lacks auto focus and produces average quality photos
4. it features 262K color TFT display with a QVGA (320×240 pixels) resolution and Bluetooth with A2DP
5. It has microSD memory card slot
6. FM radio ,TV out , MS Office documents viewer
7. Samsung has included Data cable and a 512MB card in the retail package
8. Nice web browser but office documents viewer is slow
9. But Choppy animation in the main menu and Java applications can be installed only through WAP.
10. Above all only preset message ring tones
The Sony Ericsson W580 walkman phone has been designed for the generation which eats, drinks and sleeps music. The slim slider phone is 14 millimetre thick and comes in modest white and grey colours. Although its designs somewhat matches to the W880 but it has distinctive features to offer. One of them is its curved body section at the bottom of the device that caused the Fast Port power/headset jack to be moved up to the side of the device. The Portable Speakers MPS-70 and Snap-on Speakers MPS-75 - makes the W580 a true music phone. This quad-band GSM/EDGE handset stores up to 470 full-length tracks, has a 2.0 megapixel fixed focus camera tucked discretely within the slider itself, plus stacks of gaming, sports and entertainment features. When connected to the personal computer a USB cable, which comes along the phone, will enable you to use the phone as a mass storage device.
And for those who love their radio and prefer to listen information and music on FM the W580 also sports an RDS compatible FM radio. And for those who can’t have their morning workouts and jogging without the walkman listen to this– with the Sony Ericsson W580 Walkman phone you can even take your favourite tracks to the track as it will count your steps, your calories and monitor your running speed/distance/time. Other features of note in the W580 include the 2″ 262k color display and the W580’s built-in Bluetooth stereo support which will allow it to supply tunes to a pair of wireless headphones - not included. Also the Bluetooth Music Receiver MBR-100 lets you play your phone music directly through a home stereo. The user can use his W580 as the remote control to skip through tracks and adjust the volume. Talking about the software the W580 sports a full RSS news feed reader, 3D Java games, and the Track ID application that lets users identify songs by simply holding their phone up to an audio source - like a car stereo speaker. Don’t forget the phone also features special light effects if you navigate to the walkman player the lights automatically change to glowing orange colour. Now that’s called special effect. Well music is not the only thing that will save you from getting bored while travelling, the W580 offers fast action 3D Gaming (with hit titles preloaded). And as it is the slider phone it has a large 2.0 inches colour screen which gives you perfect display when you are playing games, browsing web or viewing your photos. The phone weighs only 94 grams making it easy and comfortable to carry in pocket when you are listening to music. As we have said earlier the bottom of the phone is curved but it still looks rectangular when it’s in closed position. Sliding the phone open reveals the alphanumeric keys when open although it looks little unusual that way but it’s not that bad counting its plus points.
Now let’s analyse the control buttons given on the side of the phones. The right side of the phone has a fast port connector for a change but the on-off button is at the top as usual. But the way it is fitted in the phone it can’t be pressed accidentally. You will find volume rocker on the left side of the sliding front. There are Light effects LEDs along the dividing line of the slides which emit blinking light in five different colours to signal an incoming call. The colour of the blinking lights can be adjusted as per the user’s choice but not the pace of the blinking. Don’t be greedy guys!

How much can you pay for your mobile phone? It can be more than a precious diamond, a watch or a Armani Suit. But can you pay more than the price of a car or a house? Well, if your eye brows are already raised then let me tell you that there is a phone which can cost you more than a house and a car. Though this time this phone belongs to a less known manufacturer but this doesn’t deteriorates the luxury of this phone. Gresso, a Russia based company, will soon going to launch two expensive and luxurious mobile phones named Gresso Avantgarde Luna and Gresso Avantgarde Sol. These phones will provide you some of the latest features in a body that is attractive and very expensive.
But what make these phones so expensive? Well, this phone is not just a calling device but can be called precious jewellery. These phones are made of some of the precious metals which are not only rare but very expensive. You can see the minute details of this phone which are made of African Blackwood, Titanium, Gold and sapphire. The body of this phone reflects the costly metals used to design it. This is also the first ever luxurious phone which features a Windows Mobile 6 Standard OS. Most of the luxurious phones don’t feature Windows, so this is an exception.
These mobile phones are hand crafted with delicate metals like gold, sapphire and titanium. One of the most notable things about this phone is the detailed craftsmanship of this phone. Every minute detail has been taken care of in this phone. Sapphire crystal glass has surrounded the QVGA TFT 65K color display of this phone. The keypad symbols are designed with laser cut and in the front and back panels you get scratch proof hand polished titanium panels. And the bodies of these handsets are made of the exotic African Blackwood. So after hearing these all, do you need to know anything about the features of these phones? These phones weigh 128 grams and have tri-band GSM/GPRS support. These have all the modern features which you can find in various luxurious phones. Both have 2 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth, and memory card slot. The Gresso Avantgarde Luna will cost you 5000 Euro and Sol will be higher than this costing 7000 Euro.
