No need to push your finger hard to push the button of your handset, as Mobile manufacturer HTC announced to launch a touchscreen mobile today. The mobile users will now have to touch the screen of their handset to navigate. This stylish mobile hand set is the new TouchFLO touchscreen technology. This handset includes tri-band GPRS/EDGE enabled device with Wi-Fi support. This new model of HTC is also loaded with updated and advanced software like; Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile, Windows Live and Internet Explorer. The size and weight of the handset is impressive and very user-friendly. It is just 99.9 x 58 x 13.9 mm and 112 grams (about the size of LG Prada, but 2mm thicker and 27 grams heavier, with 2.8″ wide in the diagonal and has 240 x 320 pixels resolution with 65K colors. The stylish handset contains the internal memory of 128 MB and external memory of microSD memory card. Apart from the touch screen, the most important part is the 64 MB RAM and the 2 megapixel camera: comes in two color variants: elegant soft black or alluring wasabi green. This time HTC in its new touchscreen handset is featuring Windows Mobile operating system with version 6 Professional. HTC has already launched this beautiful, innovative, stylish touchscreen handset in UK. The company will launch this handset in Asia, and the rest of the Europe by the end of the month. It will be launched in South and North America in the second half of 2007.
HTC is again in the glare of publicity in the mobile world, with its announcement of launching a new model P 6300, very soon. The mobile features the same as xda 2i, with a few new extra features. The resolution seems to be quite old, common HTC, 3. 5” display and only 320X 240 pixels. With no HSCSD, EDGE, 3G, and Infrared Port, the new mobile handset does not seem to get the mass attraction. The whole concept of making this phone is not a departure from the past HTC products and design wise also, it’s not much attractive. In the silver color, the new design has card slot SD with 128 MB on RAM and 256 MB on ROM, unlike that of newly launched Motorola RAZR2 V8 mobile. With WLAN connectivity, the HTC new model has the facility to avail Wi- Fi 802.11 b/g. Features in the camera of the mobile constitute Pocket Office that includes Word, Outlook, Excel, and PDF viewer.
Apart from, there are java MIDP 2.0, MP3/ AAC Player, video/ audio album, and voice memo in the new handset introduced by the HTC. With dimensions 130 x 70x 18.8 mm, together with weight of 200 g, the new HTC P 6300 is much heavier than newly introduced Motorola RAZR2 V8 and V9 phones. There is Bluetooth v 2.0 facility in the phone along with a mini USB. The handset features OS with Microsoft Windows mobile 5.0 pocket pc. Also, there is browser WAP 2.0/ X HTML in the mobile. So, we can say that there is nothing new about the phone, all these facilities can be found in any of the PDA phone available in the mobile’s market. Surely, new designs and better hardwares are needed in the HTC set of mobile phones.
Welcome to the fraternity of Smart Phone Laptops or should I say Smart Laptop Phones. Whatever, it may be but we got a really compact laptop in HTC Shift, the latest smart phone from HTC. This phone has everything which your laptop has been giving you. And you get a bonus with this and that’s the calling facility. Certainly calling it a phone seems quite unusual. This phone is something more than just a phone. This QuadBand GSM phone has an 800×480 pixel wide VGA 7 inches display. The TFT touch screen with 16 M colors display looks simply awesome. The color, contrast and everything reminded us our PCs. The overall dimension of this phone is 190×135x30 mm, which makes it a little bulky to carry. It has a QWERTY keyboard and the handwriting recognition software, which makes it seamless to use. You get miniSD with 1 GB RAM, 30 GB hard disk drive and 1.2 GHz via CPU. The memory capacity is really terrific. It’s even more than my first PC. Certainly, this phone is more a mini laptop in your hands. You get all the cell phone features like GPRS, EDGE, 3G and WLAN with HTS Shift. It also has an in-built Bluetooth, which looks like the final icing on the cake.

This phone enjoys the latest Windows Vista OS. But, it’s not that impressive as we are flooded with troubleshooting queries from people. Shift has a 1.2 mega pixel video call camera, which we felt little low for a phone like this. Phones like Shift are focused on corporate clan so they hardly need a camera. This phone/laptop is surely a major step towards portable computing and communications. Shift also lets you enjoy the music through Windows Media Player 11. It also has a finger print recognition along with other features.
As we enter the early part of 2007, we are starting to witness a number of unauthorised specification releases for the phones which are expected to be popular. The most recent release is the HTC VOX S710 smartphone which is the latest offering from the HTC smartphone stable.
Obviously aimed at the business end of the market, the phone may also attract some interest from the personal end of the market, due to its neat design, and impressive functionality. The days when smartphones were predominately for the business person appear to be numbered, with a new and potentially more lucrative personal market now opening up for smartphones.
The handset itself offers an interesting compact style with the main enlarged screen and numeric keypad to the fore, with the PDA keyboard behind the screen. As is the norm with this type of phone, the QWERTY keyboard slides behind the back of the traditional mobile phone part of the handset, and is released by a very smooth sliding mechanism. The overall dimension of the handset are 100 mm x 50 mm x 18 mm which compares well with its peers, although there are no weight figures available as yet.
The HTC VOX S710 uses the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 operating system, which is the most up to date available. The phone covers a vast array of network connectivity such as EDGE, GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 together with GPRS quad-band - offering continuos connectivity any where in the world. The HTC VOX S710 also includes data transfer formats such as Bluetooth, USB connector and Wireless LAN to name but a few.
The handset itself is dominated by the large QVGA TFT LCD display screen, which measures some 2.4 inches from corner to corner. A useful array of graphics ensures quick and easy navigation, all of which is set against an illuminated green background for easy reading.
As well as the PDA system offering expanded phone contacts book, calendar, standard Microsoft office software and email, etc, there is also a high specification 2 megapixel camera installed. Compatible with video functionality, as well as standard still photography, there is sufficient space to save your favourite clips using the 128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM available.
The design of the handset, which is professional and compact, will appear to the mass market as interest in smartphones is spilling over from the personal end of the market. HTC has a good reputation in this market, and no doubt this new release will be welcomed with open arms.

The screen itself is touch sensitive, which has allowed HTC to take out the key pad, thereby allowing the introduction of additional functionality.
The weight is about 127 grams, and while this may seem heavy compared to your more traditional mobile phone, when you consider the massive expansion of functionality, it is well worth the increase. The improved 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery offers between 3.5 and 5 hours talk time, with standby capacity of 6 to 8 days - more than enough for today’s business and personal user.
The phone itself has memory capacity of some 48MB of RAM and 51MB of ROM, which is required to support the installed software, and offer sufficient storage capacity for the user.

You also have the traditional features including sorting by name, grouping functionality, etc.

The handset comes in silver graphite colouring and weighs in at a slightly bulky 119 grams, but compared to the technology available in the handset, this is no big deal. The technology is supported by a 960 mAh Li-Ion battery which offers useful standby and talk time figures.
The layout of the handset is fairly standard with the 4 way navigation button located just under the display screen, and surrounded by additional function keys. The keyboard itself is a standard PC “QWERTY” keyboard, slightly adapted to take in numerical keys. The keys themselves look fair small at first glance however they are raised and curved up from the handset, and have a sufficient gap in between to avoid simple errors. The keys are surprisingly easy to use, although they may take a little getting used to if you have never owned a Samrtphone before. Various short cut keys are already pre-installed allowing you swift access to the internet and your mail box to name but two.
The phonebook offers the option to add several numbers to each contact record, as well as sort them into groups, assign image, assign ringtone etc. The exact size of the phone book is not available at present, but it is rumoured to be at least up with the current average which is about 1,000 records for similar phones of this quality. The memory capabilities are split into two to support the various software, with 64MB of RAM and 76.52MB of ROM - more than enough to store your data.
