The Bird D680 mobile phone is a Dual-band clamshell from Bird weighing only 75grams and measures close to 88 x 42 x 21 mm. The Bird D680 mobile phone was announced last quarter and is scheduled for a next year release. It has a 65k color TFT screen with a 128 x 160 pixels resolution. The external display is as good at 96 x 64 pixels.

The downside for the Bird D680 mobile phone is the absence of a memory card slot. The phone has 2mb fixed for MMS messages, and 200 SMS messages. The Bird D680 mobile phone comes with a powerful 1.3 megapixel camera which can take videos at VGA resolution. The Bird D680 mobile phone also has an in-built Mp3/MIDI player. There aren’t that many data networks which the phone supports but it has crucial GPRS functionality between 32 – 48 kbps. The Bird D680 mobile phone also comes with an Usb port but the missing Bluetooth and Infrared hurts the usability.

The battery life of the Bird D680 mobile phone is not yet known but we don’t expect any surprises there. The phone will be available in only silver and black. The keypad of the Bird D680 mobile phone is a bit weird with a nice 4-way navigation button.
